Service Awards
Fulfilling UUCWC’s Vision and Mission depends on the dedicated and combined efforts and gifts of many individuals. Each spring we recognize some of those individuals. To nominate a church member (including yourself) who meets the criteria and is deserving of special recognition, please complete a nomination form (download, or complete the online form, below).
Nominations are due on or before April 21, 2024.
THE UUCWC DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD
This award recognizes exemplary effort by a member leading to a significant contribution to UUCWC’s mission. One can win this award multiple times for different contributions. All significant contributions are considered including, but not exclusive to, social action and religious education. Youth are eligible for this award and there is no minimum length of membership for this award.
THE FLAMING CHALICE AWARD
This award recognizes an individual who both epitomizes the values and principles of Unitarian Universalism and has provided sustained contributions to the accomplishment of UUCWC’s mission, usually in multiple arenas. This individual’s enthusiasm, efforts, and devotion have enriched the quality of our common life. One must be a member for at least seven years to be considered for this award.
ADDITIONAL CRITERIA FOR AWARDS
Complete as many forms as you wish; the deadline is April 21st. You may nominate someone for a specific award, however, the Board will make the final decisions on which award best fits the nominee.
NOMINATION REVIEW PROCESS
The Board of Trustees will review all nominations and identify recipients (Board of Trustees members are not eligible for an award during their time on the Board).
Distinguished Service Awards will be distributed at the Annual Meeting. The Flaming Chalice Award, when conferred, will be presented at a Sunday Service on or near the Annual Meeting.
ANNUAL DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS is April 21st.
