The first discussion and organizational meeting of the Racial Justice Study Group will be on Monday, February 26, 7pm – 9pm. (Bring your dinner if you have difficulty making that time slot).
This group will meet monthly to learn about racial injustices and formulate ideas to work to remedy them. A book selected by the group will be read every other month, alternating with a film.
Our first book is A Colony in a Nation by Chris Hayes. This fairly short read presents the provocative idea that white Americans have treated people of color as if they were colonists, not citizens.
You are warmly welcome to join us (even if you’ve only read a synopsis of the book) and be part of choosing the next book to read.
