The Sabbatical Team Welcomes Questions

Rev. Kim’s sabbatical began in late December with a wonderful send-off, and will continue until May 3, when we celebrate her return. During her journey of Rediscovery, the Sabbatical Team is available to you for questions or assistance about the day-to-day operations of the church, a big project, a concern or a celebration. You can read about Frequently Asked Questions about sabbatical. If we cannot answer your question, we can direct you to the best group to help!

Members of the Sabbatical Team will join Board Members at the Board Chat scheduled for Middle Hour (10am) on February 2; please stop by with any questions or comments to share!

As our minister for Sabbatical, Rev. Sue Goodwin is in our pulpit three Sundays a month and is available for pastoral care; she can be reached at conglife@uucwc.org. Rev. Sue, who is part time, steps out of her Congregational Life responsibilities until Rev. Kim returns.

To support Rev. Sue in this transition of responsibilities, navigate commitments, short range plans, etc., the Ministerial Relations Committee was formed. You can reach team members Joe Schenk, Nina Todor or Bay Waltman at mrc@uucwc.org.

On Sundays when Rev. Sue is not in the pulpit, we will welcome guest preachers. On January 26, our first guest speaker will be Rev. Scott Sammler-Michael, co-minister at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Montclair, New Jersey, with the sermon, The Religious Athiest.

As Rev. Kim’s Sabbatical theme is Rediscovery, we encourage you all to explore your own rediscovery: revisiting books or music that have challenged you or brought you joy, interests set aside in response to busy lives, relationships with others or yourself. Where might your journey of Rediscovery take you?
