Food Insecurity has been identified as a growing need in our local communities due to the pandemic. In June, the Council for Faith in Action (CFA) donated $1,000 to El Centro Food Bank (along with $1,000 each to three additional organizations addressing food insecurity). El Centro responded by sending a handwritten note saying, “…what an amazing deed [UUCWC] has offered to our most vulnerable…rest assured that hundreds of people were able to participate in a meal with their families because of your kindness and love.“
Know we’re making a difference and living our Principles. Thank you for your continued support of CFA through your generous contributions to the plate on Sundays.
50% of the weekly plate is allocated to social justice causes. The Faith Expression and Funding Team (FEFT), part of the Council for Faith in Action, is responsible for the distribution of these funds. Is there an organization that you are passionate about, that you feel puts your faith in action? Contact FEFT for details on submitting a funding request.
