As we enter the 4th week of the Capital Campaign, we are excited to share that we have $756,665 in pledges committed by 68 households. Or, stated another way, we have raised almost 70% of our $1.1M goal! There remain another 138 households in the congregation that we hope will join us on this Capital Campaign journey.
We thought a brief reminder of our identified needs might help those of you who are still contemplating your pledge. The total estimated cost is $1,700,000 with the following list of those needs and their approximate costs broken out:
- Parking and Grounds – $110,000
- Renovated and Modernized Kitchen – $140,000
- The Crossings Room – $130,000
- Architects and Permits – $150,000
- The Sanctuary – $120,000
- Expanded Lobby – $300,000
- Office, Activity rooms, Storage Expansion – $750,000
We have already begun the process of selecting an architect who will work with us to strategically determine how best to meet our needs and how to prioritize the work.
So, you may be asking yourself at this point, how can we reach $1.1M? As an example, if all 138 remaining households were to pledge $500 per year, which is $41.67 per month, for a total of $2,500 over 5 years, this would raise another $345,000; taking us to our goal!
OR If the remaining 138 households pledge $1,000 per year, which $83.33 per month, for 5 years (or $5,000 total), we would be able to add $700,000 to our total to date, bringing us to $1,460,000 in total capital campaign funds – an amount that would be sufficient for us to complete our mission.
We recognize that some households are able to commit more than these amounts and some less. We feel very grateful and fortunate that our progress to date represents a median household pledge of $5,000; with 33 pledges $5,000 or less and 34 pledges of greater than $5,000 up to $120,000.
We ask that if you haven’t made your pledge yet…please take a moment to sit and contemplate what keeps you coming to UUCWC and how UUCWC enriches your life. Will you commit to being part of its legacy? Every single pledge is of vital importance!
We are so grateful for, and inspired by those who have pledged to this Capital Campaign and thankful for those yet to do so.
