UUCWC Welcomes guest musician Rena Xu on May 5th.

Rena Xu (she/her) is a senior at New Hope-Solebury High School who has played flute for 10 years. She has studied flute with Dr. Caryn Block and Michelle Cosgrove and been a member of the New Hope-Solebury High School Wind Ensemble, and the festival bands of Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 11 and Bucks County Music Educators Association. During the school year, she is also principal flute of the Youth Orchestra of Bucks County(YOBC)’s Concert Winds and Symphony Orchestra and was one of their fall soloists for the Fall 2022 semester after winning the Soloist Competition. In 2023, she was the second place winner for the Flute Society of Greater Philadelphia’s Senior Division Youth Artist Competition and this year, she was selected as one of the performers for the Philadelphia Music Teachers Association’s Kiszely Recital at Carnegie Hall. Outside of formal performances, she also enjoys volunteering with YOBC and her flute studio.
