Many of you have noticed the signs around the building warning, “Don’t Drink the Water!”
I want to provide an update on our efforts to resolve this issue. In early January, we received a notification from the NJ Department of Environmental Protection informing us that our wells are contaminated with PFAS (Polyfluoroalkyl Substances) because of a nearby spill. It remains uncertain who is responsible for the spill or the exact timing of the incident, but it is clear that our water is currently unsafe for consumption. To address this situation, we are installing a Point of Entry Treatment (P.O.E.T.) System. We have hired a vendor for the installation and are now waiting for the necessary permit from the Hopewell Township Health Department. Once we clear this step, we will proceed with the installation, conduct post-installation testing, and restore the safety of our water for drinking and cooking.
We appreciate your understanding and patience during this challenging time.
