I am thrilled to announce that as of July 1, the Rev. Sue Goodwin will begin serving as our Minister of Congregational Life!
Many of you are familiar with Rev. Sue’s energy, maturity and open-hearted theology. Sue has been a frequent guest preacher here at UUCWC, and a popular teacher of several of our Adult Religious Education classes. It was in those spaces that Sue first began to realize UUCWC, its mission and its people, felt like a homecoming; felt like “coming into shelter,” Sue told the Search Committee.
Sue brings many gifts and talents including an entrepreneurial spirit, ability to grow her dreams into organized and structured realities, and a passion for people. She is a leader who values and prioritizes collaboration. Sue is curious, authentic and excited by congregational life.
As one Search Committee member said, “I honestly can’t imagine finding anyone better.”
With the position for Minister of Congregational Life being half time, you can expect to see Rev. Sue here two Sundays a month, and three days a week in the office or connecting with UUCWC folks in the community. Starting January and through April, Rev. Sue’s responsibilities will shift to preaching and pastoral care while I am on sabbatical. On July 28, Rev. Sue will join us for the first time in worship. Directly following there will be an opportunity for members of the ministry teams whom she will be working most closely with to join her for a meet and greet brunch.
I hope you will each take an opportunity to introduce yourself and welcome Sue to our UUCWC family. It is sure to be a wonderful year. You can reach Sue at conglife@uucwc.org beginning July 1.
With care and excitement,
Rev. Kim
